History of the School

In March 1994 an agreement was signed by the Chinese Educational Bureau and “The Far East Fellowship” (Canadian Partner). The PEACE Institute was born.
In November 1994, the “Tianjin PEACE International Language Institute” was officially established as a training center. Lee Byung Hyun (Korean) took office as the first foreign director. Yin Zhen Kang (Chinese) took office as the first Chinese Central corporative representative and director. The first Korean class began in September 1995 and the first English class began four months later.
In January 1997 a joint-venture agreement was signed with “Tianjin Management College”. The school changed its name to “Tianjin PEACE Institute for Global Language Studies” and its educational category was raised to college status. In March 1998 the “Tianjin Peace International School” for Korean elementary school students opened. The new school buildings were completed in September 2000 and are presently being used.
In February 2004, Kim Sung Tae took office as the second foreign director. The classrooms were redecorated in June 2005.
In July 2005, an agreement was signed establishing a Korean department in the “Tianjin Vocational Senior High School for Ethnic Minorities,” a school established and supported by the Islam Development Bank.
The second Chinese Director
In October 2006, Wen Jian Liang (Chinese) took office as the second Chinese Corporative Representative. In April 2007, the school’s name was changed to its present name: “The Tianjin PEACE Institute for ALL Nations”.
